About Camden
Opera House

Opened in 1894 and on the National Register of Historic Places, The Camden Opera House is a 489-seat auditorium, including two conference and meeting rooms, a lounge and mini-theater -- all served by elevator. Owned, managed, and supported by the Town of Camden, Maine, the opera house serves residents of all ages by hosting a wide range and variety of performances, concerts, theater, national and international conferences, and other events. Annually, Camden Opera House hosts over 28,000 patrons. With more than 125 years of service to the community, we are invested in the cultural vibrancy of our community and see the Opera House as a mainspring in the advancement of a vibrant downtown area.

MISSION: 
Our mission is to produce, sponsor and host events that supplement and expand the cultural, social and economic life of the community.  For us, this also includes over 200 town sponsored meetings, events, and community gatherings per year.

VISION:
Our vision is to be Midcoast Maine’s premier performing arts and conference center and a high-quality, community venue working in partnership with every facet of our vibrant Maine community and region.   We seek to create and expand opportunities for intellectual excitement and enrichment in the arts through excellence in programming.
