Just when you think that you have seen the best that Irish music has to offer, a new show from Ireland is taking the art form by storm. Celtic Crossroads presents Irish music like never before, and does to Irish music what Riverdance did to Irish dance. Three outstanding seasons of performances in Galway, Ireland saw Celtic Crossroads enjoying standing ovations every night.
Celtic Crossroads unleashed its sensational talent on the American market in 2007, and saw unprecedented ovations not only during the bows but also mid performances. The shows fresh sound is revitalising the image of traditional Irish music around the world. In all, 2007 saw Celtic Crossroads performing over one hundred concerts in Ireland and the USA, and included the shows first European tour. They begin a new US tour this October 2009.
The name Celtic Crossroads originates from a time in Ireland when neighbouring communities met at the crossroads between towns and villages to socialize long before the pub tradition began.
The live concerts are a spectacle of talent, featuring seven world-class musicians, play over twenty instruments on stage, and show how Irish music influenced the global birth of a multitude of musical genres. This show features high kicking dance, inventive arrangements and bass driven grooves along with unsurpassed showmanship. On its first American visit, word-of mouth alone led to a sell-out tour.
